Don’t Be Quick to Judge Part I

“Words are combination of sounds that has a meaning and is spoken or written” according to Merriam Webster dictionary. So when we speak words, what we do is to put sounds together to make it meaningful to a recipient when passing a message. Sometimes words are not what they seem to be, the person making those sounds could mean something good and the recipient could have a different picture and what the recipient may gather from the sound may be annoying to him or her. Do you know what, don’t be quick to Judge. Don’t be quick to talk back. Don’t pick offence for nothing. James: 1v19 (Kjv) “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:” I love the part that says “ …be swift to hear” because it is a very important tool in relating with people. Importance of Life over Material Things

Life is so important than the way we get to realize it. The moment we got our first luxury/necessity which could be a car, a house, a mobile phone, a private Jet and many other material stuffs, there was this happiness you felt  pertaining to a desire being fulfilled. But as time went, the happiness you felt about those stuffs began to fade gradually. It could be that you saw a lot of other materials that are better than the one you own or you just suddenly got tired of. Another illustration is this; imagine that you are the only person that you can see around and that you could just have anything in this world. You could drive or own the best cars, the best houses and all the best things you can think about in this world. You could even own the biggest LED screen where you watch any program or movie of your choice and yet the only person that you see around is you, how do you think life would be to you. YOU DON’T HAVE TO FIGHT

‘ Why do people fight? ’ This is a question that some people who are exposed to such phenomena would ask. Especially kids whose parents take this as a normal activity in the house. I would distinguish fight into two categories which are; Emotional fight and Physical fight. The word Emotion talks about a strong feeling which has to do with the mind. The feeling could be love or hatred. Emotional fight talks of the hatred part i.e it ’ s a strong feeling of hatred toward a person or people as the case maybe. The feeling could have been developed with time or at once depending on how ones emotion is affected negatively. The result of this type of fight is that it will result in keeping malice, having grudges, thinking evil against that person, speaking bad things in the person’s absence and so on. BENEFITS OF PRAYING TOGETHER AS A FAMILY

Praying together as a family is normally tagged ‘ Devotion ’ . There are a lot of benefits of praying together as a family. The Bible said where two or three are gathered together there am I in their midst (Mathew 18v20). When God is present in the midst, it means something supernatural is going to happen like in Act: 2v22 ‘ a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know ’ . This means that you can get everyday miracles in devotions.   There have been situations where people were healed in family devotions, and there have been prophetic utterances that have yielded results. For example; there was a time I lead a prayer devotion meeting in my school hostel and God spoke to me that I should pray for the sick, and I asked if there was any sick person around and behold there was one that got healed that day.             Apart from miracles happening in devotions, it has been noticed also

In my previous article on relationship, I wrote about how most people dwell only in Love to marry. But we got to understand that Love can bring people together but may not sustain a marriage. Marriage is made up of more ingredients than just love. Praying for the right partner was another ingredient we looked at. I will be writing on three other ingredients which are WISDOM, UNDERSTANDING AND KNOWLEDGE. But in this article I will only write on wisdom. Wisdom the bible say ‘ is the principal thing and in all thy getting get wisdom.. ’ Wisdom is the ability to make good decisions. Some people will say that wisdom is a common sense, but I don ’ t feel it is. When issues tend to arise in a relationship, each partner tries to show that their opinion is better than the other.   Love is considered to bring two people together. Like people will say “I love him/her, which is why I want to get married to him/her. Considering what love is ‘ a strong feeling of liking someone or something very much ’ I would say they are correct.  But the problem with most relationships is that they always think that love is all that is needed. She/he can love you but can they love your attitude too, or the type of clothes you wear, the kind of friends you keep, the kind of food you eat, the way you talk, and so on?
